First filmmaking Contest

So this weekend, Scott, Wendy and I made a commercial for our 1st contest.  It was awesome!!!  We had really great actors and we worked really hard and I think the finished product is pretty great!!!

We rented some high def dv cameras, (that were so nice and I didn't want to give them back) a light set up and then we just went crazy.  Amazing what a no budget idea can do :P

Now we wait for the judges to pick the top 5, who get $25,000 plus a trip to Florida to watch the Super Bowl at a special party, (the flight and hotel room are paid for) and then America votes the commercial they think should go to the big league with the pros.  After that, the commercial aires and it's up to the USA Today Ad Meter to pick the #1 commercial of the Super Bowl and even if our commercial ties a million ways, we still win $1,000,000!!!

Oh wish us luck!!!!!!!

History

I can't believe it.  We were a part of history.  A history that we helped make.  I can't help but be hopeful and excited for things to come.  Go us!  And go Obama!  What an exciting time.  I'm finally proud to be an American again.

Natural Disasters and a baby

Well, so much for keeping up! haha Our trip to Vegas was awesome and we ate wedding cake in front of the chapel at the Mandalay Bay. I didn't have to kill or yell at anyone who was drunk in the hall this time, so that was a bonus. We swam in the wave pool and we relaxed in Mesquite.

We just got back from St. John USVI on the 18th of October. I guess that isn't just, but yeah. We were in Puerto Rico for a night, which was way too quick, and then we flew this tiny little plane to St. Thomas. But while we were checking in with the airline, the ground started to shake as if the building was a suspension bridge or something. The lady freaked and later once in St. Thomas, our bellman asked us if we had felt the earthquake. It was a 6.2 and the epicenter was in one of the Virgin Islands. Crazy. Puerto Rico is quite a ways away from St. Thomas, so for us to feel it there was pretty weird. Once we were settled in St. Thomas, it rained. And rained. And rained! There was a tropical depression, tropical storm and then a hurricane! Hurricane Omar graced us with it's ugly weather and we were only able to snorkel for a day :( But it was a pretty day.

The hurricane brought in Robyn and Aaron's baby girl Brooklyn. I was the first person besides them and hospital staff to hold that gorgeous girl. She is such a beautiful baby! I'm a proud auntie! Anyway, the trip wasn't a total bust. We got to relax and wander around St. John. We plan on going back in 2 years for my mom and aunt's 50th birthday. I can't wait!!
